සංචාරක අධිකාරියේ සභාපති ඉල්ලා අස්වෙයි..

 ශ්‍රී ලංකා සංචාරක සංවර්ධන අධිකාරියේ (SLTDA) සභාපති බුද්ධික හේවාවසම් මහතා සිය ධුරයෙන් ඉල්ලා අස්වී තිබේ.

පෞද්ගලික සහ වෘත්තීය හේතූන් මත තමන් මෙම තීරණය ගත් බව ඒ මහතා සංචාරක, විදේශ කටයුතු සහ විදේශ රැකියා අමාත්‍යවරයා වෙත යොමුකළ නිල ලිපියක සඳහන් කර ඇත.

2024 ඔක්තෝබර් මාසයේ සිට 2026 අගෝස්තු දක්වා වූ සිය ධුර කාලය තුළ ශ්‍රී ලංකා සංචාරක ඉතිහාසයේ සුවිශේෂී ජයග්‍රහණ රැසක් අත්කර ගැනීමට හැකි වූ බව හේවාවසම් මහතා පෙන්වා දෙයි.

විශේෂයෙන්ම 'ඩිට්වා' සුළි කුණාටුව වැනි ස්වභාවික විපත් සහ විවිධ සමාජ-දේශපාලන අර්බුද මධ්‍යයේ වුවද, ශ්‍රී ලංකා ඉතිහාසයේ වැඩිම සංචාරක පැමිණීම වාර්තා කිරීමට සිය පාලන කාලය තුළ හැකි වූ බව එම ලිපියේ සඳහන් වේ.

එමෙන්ම 2025 වසරේදී ශ්‍රී ලංකාව ලොව ප්‍රමුඛතම සංචාරක ගමනාන්තයක් ලෙස ජාත්‍යන්තර ඇගයීම් 15කට වඩා දිනාගත් බවත්, සංචාරක ක්ෂේත්‍රයේ සියලු පාර්ශවකරුවන් පොදු ජාතික අරමුණු වටා ඒකරාශී කරමින් රජයේ සංචාරක ප්‍රතිපත්තිය ශක්තිමත් කිරීමට තමන්ට හැකි වූ බවත් හේවාවසම් මහතා පවසයි.

ආයතනය තුළ විනිවිදභාවය සහ අඛණ්ඩතාව තහවුරු කිරීම සඳහා තමන් උපරිමයෙන් කැපවූ බව ද ඔහු අවධාරණය කර ඇත.

තමන් කෙරෙහි විශ්වාසය තබා මෙම ධුරයට පත්කළ ජනාධිපතිවරයාට සහ සහයෝගය ලබාදුන් විෂය භාර අමාත්‍යවරයාට සිය කෘතඥතාව පිරිනමන ඒ මහතා, ඉදිරි පාලනාධිකාරිය වෙත කටයුතු භාරදීමේ ක්‍රියාවලිය විධිමත්ව සිදුකිරීම සඳහා අවශ්‍ය සහයෝගය ලබාදෙන බව ද දන්වා සිටියි.

Chairman of Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority Resigns

Buddhika Hewawasam, the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), has officially resigned from his position. In a letter addressed to the Minister of Tourism, Foreign Affairs, and Foreign Employment, he cited personal and professional reasons for his decision.

During his tenure from October 2024 to August 2026, Hewawasam highlighted significant achievements in promoting Sri Lanka’s tourism sector. Despite facing natural disasters, such as the 'Ditwa' cyclone, and various socio-political challenges, he noted that his administration oversaw the highest number of tourist arrivals in the nation’s history.

The letter also mentioned that in 2025, Sri Lanka secured over 15 international recognitions as a premier tourist destination. Hewawasam expressed pride in uniting all stakeholders within the tourism industry to strengthen government tourism policies around common national goals.

He emphasized his commitment to ensuring transparency and continuity within the organization. Furthermore, Hewawasam extended his gratitude to the President who appointed him to this role, as well as to the minister who supported him. He assured that he would provide the necessary cooperation to facilitate a smooth transition to the incoming administration.
