පිළිකා නාශක එන්නත් හිඟයක්... රෝගීන් ඉහල අවදානමක..

පිළිකා රෝගීන්ට ලබාදෙන අත්‍යවශ්‍ය ප්‍රතිශක්තීකරණ එන්නත් වර්ග කිහිපයක් මෙරට සෞඛ්‍ය පද්ධතිය තුළ දැඩි ලෙස හිඟ වීම හේතුවෙන් රෝගීන් රැසක් දැඩි ජීවිත අවදානමකට මුහුණ දී සිටින බව වෛද්‍ය හා සිවිල් අයිතිවාසිකම් පිළිබඳ වෛද්‍යවරුන්ගේ වෘත්තීය සමිති සන්ධානය පවසයි.

එම සන්ධානයේ සභාපති, විශේෂඥ වෛද්‍ය චමල් සංජීව මහතා සඳහන් කරන්නේ Neup, Neupogen, GCadF සහ Filgastrin යන වෙළඳ නාමවලින් හඳුන්වන මෙම විශේෂිත එන්නත් නොමැති වීම නිසා අදාළ රෝගීන් මේ වන විට ජීවිතයත් මරණයත් අතර සටනක නිරතව සිටින බවයි.

පිළිකා මර්දන ප්‍රතිකාර ලබාගන්නා රෝගීන්ගේ ශරීරයේ සුදු රුධිරාණු මට්ටම ඉහළ නංවමින්, විවිධ ආසාදනවලින් ඔවුන් ආරක්ෂා කර ගැනීමට මෙම එන්නත් ඍජුවම දායක වේ.

එබැවින් මෙම ඖෂධ නොමැති වීම රෝගීන්ගේ ප්‍රතිශක්තිකරණ පද්ධතිය බිඳ වැටීමටත්, එමගින් ඔවුන්ගේ ජීවිත අනතුරේ වැටීමටත් ප්‍රධාන හේතුවක් වන බව වෛද්‍යවරයා පෙන්වා දෙයි.

මෙම ඖෂධ ආනයනය කිරීමේදී මතුව ඇති යම් ගැටලුවක් හේතුවෙන්, අදාළ ඖෂධ තොග වෛද්‍ය සැපයුම් ඒකකය (MSD) වෙත භාර ගැනීමට නොහැකි තත්ත්වයක් උදා වී ඇති බව වාර්තා වේ.

පිළිකා රෝගීන් සඳහා අත්‍යවශ්‍ය වන මෙවැනි ජීවිතාරක්ෂක ඖෂධවල අඛණ්ඩ සැපයුමක් පවත්වාගෙන යාමට පසුගිය වසර දෙකක කාලය පුරාම සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශය අසමත් වී ඇති බවට විශේෂඥ වෛද්‍ය චමල් සංජීව මහතා චෝදනා කරයි.

රජයේ රෝහල්වල පමණක් නොව, පෞද්ගලික අංශයේ ද මේ වන විට පිළිකා නාශක ඖෂධ වර්ග රැසක දැඩි හිඟයක් පවතින බවත්, මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් බලධාරීන්ගේ කඩිනම් අවධානය යොමු විය යුතු බවත් ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් අවධාරණය කළේය.

Critical Shortage of Cancer Immunization Drugs Threatens Patients' Lives in Sri Lanka

Patients battling cancer in Sri Lanka are facing grave risks due to a severe shortage of essential immunization drugs within the healthcare system, according to the Medical Professionals' Trade Union. This alarming situation has left numerous patients teetering between life and death.

Dr. Chamath Sanjeeva, president of the union, highlighted the absence of specific immunization drugs such as Neup, Neupogen, GCadF, and Filgastrin. Without these crucial medications, cancer patients are currently engaged in a dangerous fight for their lives.

These drugs play a vital role in raising white blood cell levels in patients undergoing cancer treatment, effectively protecting them from various infections. Therefore, the unavailability of these medications is a significant factor leading to the breakdown of patients' immune systems and placing their lives in jeopardy.

The challenges associated with the importation of these drugs have reportedly resulted in an inability for the Medical Supplies Division (MSD) to receive the much-needed supplies.

Dr. Sanjeeva accused the Ministry of Health of failing to ensure a continuous supply of these life-saving medications over the past two years, which has put cancer patients at further risk.

Moreover, there is a critical shortage of various types of cancer treatment medications in both public and private hospitals, signaling an urgent need for authorities to address this growing concern.
