ගෝලීය සංචාරක හා සංචාරක ක්ෂේත්රයේ වර්ධනය අතින් ශීඝ්රයෙන්ම ඉදිරියට පැමිණෙන ලොව ප්රමුඛතම රටවල් දහය අතරට ශ්රී ලංකාව තේරී පත්ව ඇතැයි ලෝක ආර්ථික සංසදය වාර්තා කරයි.
ලෝක ආර්ථික සංසදය විසින් සූරිච් ඉන්ෂුවරන්ස් සමූහය (Zurich Insurance Group) සමඟ එක්ව ප්රකාශයට පත් කරන ලද නවතම "සංචාරක සහ සංචාරක සංවර්ධන දර්ශකය - 2026" (Travel & Tourism Development Index - TTDI) මඟින් මේ බව අනාවරණය කර ඇත.
මෙම වාර්තාවට අනුව, 2024 සිට 2026 දක්වා වූ කාලසීමාව තුළ සිය දර්ශක අගය සියයට 4.3 ක කැපී පෙනෙන වර්ධනයක් අත්කර ගැනීමට ශ්රී ලංකාව සමත්ව තිබේ. ඒ අනුව, ලොව වේගයෙන්ම ප්රගතියක් අත්කරගත් රටවල් අතර 10 වැනි ස්ථානය මෙරටට හිමිව ඇත. මෙම ලැයිස්තුවේ පෙරමුණ ඇල්බේනියාව (+7.0%) විසින් දිනාගෙන ඇති අතර, වියට්නාමය (+6.3%), ලාඕසය (+6.1%), කටාර් (+6.0%), මැලේසියාව (+5.8%), තායිලන්තය (+5.6%), පිලිපීනය (+5.5%), මොරොක්කෝව (+5.5%) සහ නේපාලය (+5.1%) පිළිවෙළින් අනෙකුත් ස්ථානවල රැඳී සිටියි.
වේගවත්ම සංවර්ධනයක් පෙන්වූ රටවල් 10 අතුරින් රටවල් 7ක්ම ආසියා පැසිෆික් කලාපයට අයත් සංවර්ධනය වෙමින් පවතින ආර්ථිකයන් වීම විශේෂත්වයකි. සාපේක්ෂව අඩු මිල ගණන්, සුවිශේෂී ස්වාභාවික සම්පත් සහ තිරසාර ඉල්ලුම් රටාවන් මෙම වර්ධනයට මූලික හේතුව වී ඇති බව වාර්තාව පෙන්වා දෙයි.
මෙම දර්ශකයේ සමස්ත විශිෂ්ටතම කාර්යසාධනය පෙන්නුම් කළ රටවල් අතර එක්සත් ජනපදය අබිබවා පෙරමුණ ගැනීමට ජපානය (5.27) සමත්ව ඇති අතර, ඇමරිකා එක්සත් ජනපදය (5.23), ස්පාඤ්ඤය (5.22), ඕස්ට්රේලියාව (5.18) සහ ප්රංශය (5.17) පිළිවෙළින් පළමු රටවල් පහ අතරට ඇතුළත්ව තිබේ.
ලෝකයේ රටවල් 110ක දත්ත පාදක කරගනිමින්, ක්ෂේත්ර 17ක් ඔස්සේ සංචාරක කර්මාන්තයේ යටිතල පහසුකම්, සංස්කෘතික හා ස්වාභාවික සම්පත්වල වටිනාකම සහ තිරසාරභාවය මැන බැලීමෙන් අනතුරුව මෙම වාර්තාව සම්පාදනය කර ඇතැයි ලෝක ආර්ථික සංසදය වැඩිදුරටත් වාර්තා කරයි.
Sri Lanka Ranks 10th in Global Travel and Tourism Development Index
Sri Lanka has been ranked among the top ten countries in the world experiencing rapid growth in the tourism and travel sector, according to a report by the World Economic Forum.
This revelation is part of the latest "Travel & Tourism Development Index - 2026" report, released in collaboration with Zurich Insurance Group. The report indicates that from 2024 to 2026, Sri Lanka has succeeded in achieving a remarkable 4.3% increase in its index value.
As a result, the country occupies the 10th position among nations showing the fastest growth in this sector. Leading the list is Albania, which has seen a significant increase of 7.0%, followed by Vietnam with 6.3%, Laos at 6.1%, Qatar at 6.0%, Malaysia at 5.8%, Thailand at 5.6%, the Philippines and Morocco both at 5.5%, and Nepal at 5.1%.
Notably, out of the ten countries showcasing the fastest development, seven belong to the Asia-Pacific region, highlighting a distinctive trend. The report attributes this growth to relatively lower costs, unique natural resources, and sustainable demand patterns.
The report also emphasizes the overall performance of the United States, which leads the index, followed closely by Japan (5.27), the United States again (5.23), Spain (5.22), Australia (5.18), and France (5.17) among the top five nations.
Compiled using data from 110 countries and focusing on 17 sectors, the report assesses the value of infrastructure, cultural and natural resources, and sustainability within the tourism industry, further underscoring the significance of these findings by the World Economic Forum.
