හොරුන්ට දූෂිතයන්ට දඬුවම් දී අපරාධ රාජ්‍යයක් බවට පත්ව තිබූ රට නිවැරදි මාවතට ගැනීම තමන්ට ලැබුණු ජනවරම බවද ඔහු අවධාාරණය කරයි.

සිය ආණ්ඩුව යටතේ නීතිය සැමට සමාන බවත් ගල් අඟුරු කොමිසම පත් කළ අවස්ථාවේ ඇමති කුමාර ජයකොඩි ඉල්ලා අස්වූයේ එහෙයින් බවත් හෙතෙම  පෙන්වා දෙයි.

කුමාර ජයකොඩි නිවැරදි බව සියයට සියයක්ම විශ්වාස වුවත් ඔහු නීතියට ඉඩදී ඉවත් වූ බවත් ආණ්ඩුවේ 160 දෙනාටම කිසිදු චෝදනාවක් නොමැති බවත් හෙතෙම ප්‍රකාශ කරයි.

මහින්ද ජයසිංහ මහතා මේ බව පැවසුවේ ස්වාධීන රූපවාහිනි කරළිය වැඩසටහනට එකතු වෙමිනි.

Minister Mahinda Jayasinghe Defends Government's Stance on Corruption Punishment

The government does not impose penalties on the corrupt out of a sense of retribution, emphasized Minister Mahinda Jayasinghe. His remarks come amidst ongoing discussions regarding the state's approach to tackling corruption.

He highlighted that the country, once on the brink of becoming a criminal state, has traversed a corrective path due to the mandate given by the public. This shift reflects a commitment to justice and accountability.

Under his administration, the principle of equal law for all has been upheld, he pointed out, referencing the resignation of Minister Kumara Jayakody during the appointment of the Coal Commission as an example of the government’s dedication to transparency.

Though there is unanimous confidence in Kumara Jayakody's integrity, Jayasinghe noted that he chose to step down to allow due process to take its course. He further assured that none of the 160 members of the government are currently facing allegations of misconduct.

Minister Jayasinghe shared these insights while participating in an independent television program, reinforcing the government's stance on maintaining a fair judicial system.
