22 සංශෝධනය යනු ‘අපිට අවශ්‍ය තීන්දු නොදුන්නාත් තමුනුයි පුතායි හිරේ තමයි’ කියා අගවිනිසුරු බ්ලැක්මේල් කිරීමයි..

22 වැනි ආණ්ඩුක්‍රම ව්‍යවස්ථා සංශෝධනය හරහා අගවිනිසුරුවරයාගේ සේවා කාලය තවත් වසර දෙකකින් දීර්ඝ කිරීමට ආණ්ඩුව උත්සාහ දරන්නේ, ඔහුට සහ ඔහුගේ පුත්‍රයාට එරෙහි දූෂණ චෝදනා උපයෝගී කරගනිමින් අගවිනිසුරුවරයාව 'බ්ලැක්මේල්'  කර ආණ්ඩුවට අවශ්‍ය නඩු තීන්දු ලබා ගැනීමට බව පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී ප්‍රසාද් සිරිවර්ධන මහතා පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේදී බරපතළ චෝදනාවක් එල්ල කළේය.

පාර්ලිමේන්තුව අමතමින් මන්ත්‍රීවරයා අවධාරණය කළේ, අධිකරණයේ ස්වාධීනත්වය මුළුමනින්ම විනාශ මුඛයට ඇද දමන මෙම කුමන්ත්‍රණයට කවුරුන් කුමන ආකාරයෙන් 'සුදු හුණු' ගෑමට උත්සාහ කළද 22 වැනි සංශෝධනය පිටුපස ඇති සැබෑ යථාර්ථය එය බවයි.

එහිදී වැඩිදුරටත් අදහස් දැක්වූ පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී ප්‍රසාද් සිරිවර්ධන මහතා මෙසේද පැවසීය:

"වත්මන් අගවිනිසුරුවරයාට සහ ඔහුගේ පුත්‍රයාට එරෙහිව බරපතළ දූෂණ හා වංචා චෝදනා එල්ල වෙමින් තිබෙනවා. රජය සහ ජනාධිපතිවරයා මේ සූදානම් වන්නේ 22 වැනි ආණ්ඩුක්‍රම ව්‍යවස්ථා සංශෝධනය මඟින් අගවිනිසුරුවරයාගේ සේවා කාලය තවත් වසර දෙකකින් දිගු කිරීමටයි. අගවිනිසුරුවරයාව තවත් වසර දෙකක් තනතුරේ රඳවාගෙන, 'අපිට අවශ්‍ය නඩු තීන්දු දුන්නේ නැත්නම් තමුන්ටයි, පුතාටයි හිරේ තමයි ඉන්න වෙන්නේ' කියමින් ඔහුව බිත්තියට හේත්තු කර බ්ලැක්මේල් කිරීමේ නින්දිත උත්සාහයක් මෙතන තිබෙන්නේ. තමන්ට අවශ්‍ය නඩු තීන්දු ලබාගෙන, තමන්ට ඕනෑ කරන කතාව රට තුළ ස්ථාපිත කිරීමට නීතිය අතට ගැනීමේ මෙම උත්සාහය නිසා අධිකරණයේ ස්වාධීනත්වය මුළුමනින්ම බිඳ වැටෙනවා."

අගවිනිසුරුවරයා මෙවැනි සේවා දිගුවක් කිසිසේත් ඉල්ලා නොමැති පසුබිමක සහ විනිසුරුවරුන් 65 දෙනෙකු මෙලෙස සේවා කාලය දීර්ඝ කිරීමට අකමැත්ත පළ කර තිබියදීත්, ආණ්ඩුව මෙය බලහත්කාරයෙන් සිදු කිරීමට සැරසෙන බව මන්ත්‍රීවරයා පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

මෙය එක් අතකින් මූලික අයිතිවාසිකම් උල්ලංඝනය කිරීමක් බවද ඔහු කීය.

ආණ්ඩුවේ ඩිජිටල් ක්‍රියාකාරීන් යොදවා අගවිනිසුරුවරයාගේ පුත්‍රයා නීත්‍යනුකූල නොවන අන්දමින් ධනය උපයා ඇති බවට මාධ්‍ය මෙහෙයුම් දියත් කරමින් පවතින බවත්, එම පුවත් සත්‍ය හෝ වේවා අසත්‍ය හෝ වේවා, ඒවා අල්ලාගෙන අගවිනිසුරුවරයා වෙත අනවශ්‍ය පීඩනයක් එල්ල කරමින් සිටින බවත් ඔහු අනාවරණය කළේය.

මෙම මොහොතේදී අධිකරණයේ ස්වාධීනත්වය වෙනුවෙන් පෙනී නොසිටියහොත් සමස්ත නීති පද්ධතියම විධායකය සතු වී ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදය බරපතළ අනතුරකට ලක්වන බව පෙන්වා දුන් ප්‍රසාද් සිරිවර්ධන මහතා, ජනාධිපතිවරයා තම බලතල සීමා කෙරෙන ආයතන සියල්ල තම ග්‍රහණයට ගනිමින් ඒකාධිපති පාලනයක් කරා ගමන් කරමින් සිටින බවට ද චෝදනා කළේය.

Parliament Member Accuses Government of Blackmailing Attorney General

In a startling revelation within parliament, Member of Parliament Prasanna Sirivardhana has accused the government of attempting to extend the tenure of the Attorney General by two more years through a controversial constitutional amendment, using corruption allegations against him and his son as leverage for blackmail. This allegation raises serious concerns about the integrity of the judicial system.

Addressing parliament, Sirivardhana emphasized that this scheme poses a grave threat to the independence of the judiciary, regardless of who may attempt to obscure the truth behind the 22nd amendment. He underscored that this amendment represents a concerning reality hidden beneath its surface.

"Serious corruption and fraud charges have been leveled against the current Attorney General and his son. The government and the president are preparing to extend the Attorney General’s tenure by two years through this 22nd constitutional amendment. This is a disgraceful attempt to blackmail the Attorney General, essentially saying, 'If we don’t receive the legal decisions we require, both you and your son will end up in prison.' This manipulation of the law to secure desired judicial outcomes threatens to completely undermine the independence of our judiciary," he stated.

Despite the lack of any request for such an extension from the Attorney General himself and the expressed reluctance from 65 judges regarding prolonging their service, the MP warned that the government is determined to push this agenda forcibly.

He further characterized this effort as a violation of fundamental rights, shedding light on the alleged misuse of government resources in a media operation claiming that the Attorney General's son has been unlawfully amassing wealth. Whether these allegations hold any truth, they create unnecessary pressure on the Attorney General, he added.

Reflecting on the situation, Sirivardhana cautioned that if the independence of the judiciary is overlooked now, the entire legal system risks falling under executive control, therefore endangering democracy. He also accused the president of consolidating his powers by bringing all institutions under his control, thus steering the nation towards autocratic governance.
