මෙම වසරේ මුල් මාස හයක කාලය තුළ වාහන 316,000ක් මෙරටට ආනයනය කර ඇති අතර, ඒ හරහා රුපියල් කෝටි 51,255කට ආසන්න බදු ආදායමක් උපයා ගැනීමට ශ්රී ලංකා රේගුව සමත්ව තිබේ.
රේගු අධ්යක්ෂ ජනරාල්වරයා විසින් මෙම තොරතුරු පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේ ක්රම සහ විධි පිළිබඳ කාරක සභාව වෙත දැනුම් දී ඇත.
රේගුව වෙත ලැබුණු වැඩිම බදු ආදායම වාර්තා වී ඇත්තේ මෝටර් රථ ආනයනයෙනි. එම අගය රුපියල් කෝටි 38,672ක් ලෙස සටහන් වේ.
රේගු ආදායම් ලැයිස්තුවේ ප්රමුඛස්ථානය හිමිව ඇත්තේ එන්ජින් ධාරිතාව සෙන්ටිමීටර් කියුබ්1000ට අඩු පෙට්රල් මෝටර් රථ සඳහා වන අතර, එමගින් රුපියල් කෝටි 13,700කට අධික ආදායමක් ලැබී තිබේ. මෙය සමස්ත රේගු ආදායමෙන් සියයට 9.96ක ප්රතිශතයකි.
පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්රී විජේසිරි බස්නායක මහතාගේ ප්රධානත්වයෙන් පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේදී පැවති ක්රම සහ විධි පිළිබඳ කාරක සභා රැස්වීමේදී රේගුවේ සමස්ත ක්රියාකාරිත්වය ද සමාලෝචනයට ලක් විය. එහිදී අනාවරණය වූයේ 2026 ජූනි 30 වන විට අපේක්ෂිත ආදායම රුපියල් කෝටි 1,06,055ක් වුවද, රේගුව රුපියල් කෝටි 1,37,908ක ආදායමක් උපයා ඇති බවයි.
මෙය සියයට 130ක ප්රගතියක් ලෙස සැලකෙන අතර, පසුගිය වසරට සාපේක්ෂව සෑම මාසයකම ඉහළ ප්රගතියක් පෙන්නුම් කර ඇති බව නිලධාරීහු පෙන්වා දුන්හ.
Sri Lanka's Customs Revenue Surges from Vehicle Imports
In the first six months of this year, Sri Lanka has imported an impressive 316,000 vehicles, generating a revenue of approximately 51.25 billion rupees for the Customs Department. This significant financial achievement was shared in Parliament during a session of the Committee on Procedures and Privileges.
The bulk of this revenue, amounting to 38.67 billion rupees, has come from motor vehicle imports, highlighting the sector's importance to national finances.
Notably, the highest revenue contribution has been from petrol cars with engine capacities under 1,000 cubic centimeters, generating over 13.7 billion rupees. This figure constitutes nearly 9.96 percent of the total Customs revenue.
During the meeting, chaired by Member of Parliament Vijayesiri Bawanayake, a comprehensive review of the Customs operations was conducted. It was revealed that while the targeted revenue for the period ending June 30, 2026, was 106.05 billion rupees, the Customs Department has already surpassed this with a revenue of 137.91 billion rupees.
This performance represents a substantial growth rate of 130 percent, indicating a steady upward trend each month compared to the previous year, as officials highlighted the department's remarkable progress.
