 ලංකා අයි.ඕ.සී. (LIOC), සිනොපෙක් (Sinopec) සහ ආර්.එම්. පාර්ක් (RM Parks) යන සමාගම් විසින් ඩීසල් නිකුත් කිරීම සීමා කිරීම හේතුවෙන් දිවයින පුරා ඩීසල් ලබා ගැනීමේ ගැටළුවක් නිර්මාණය වී ඇති බව ඛනිජ තෙල් බෙදාහරින්නන්ගේ සංගමය පවසයි.

මේ හේතුවෙන් මේ වන විට රට තුළ ඩීසල් බෙදාහැරීම ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාවට අයත් පිරවුම්හල් පමණක් සීමා වී ඇති බව පෙන්වා දෙන එම සංගමය, ලංකා අයි.ඕ.සී. පිරවුම්හල් 250ක්, සිනොපෙක් පිරවුම්හල් 150ක් සහ ආර්.එම්. පාර්ක් පිරවුම්හල් 100ක් ඇතුළුව පිරවුම්හල් 500ක පමණ ඩීසල් සැපයුම සීමා වී ඇති බව සඳහන් කරයි.

රජය විසින් ඉන්ධන මිල පහත දැමූ අවස්ථාවේදී ඊට සමගාමීව මිල අඩු කිරීමට මෙම සමාගම්වලට ද සිදුව ඇති අතර, එමඟින් සිදුවන මූල්‍ය පාඩුව පියවා ගැනීම සඳහා අදාළ මුදල් ලබාදීමට රජය එකඟ වී තිබූ බව පැවසේ.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, එකඟ වූ පරිදි එම මුදල් ලබාදීමට රජය පියවර නොගැනීම හේතුවෙන් මෙලෙස ඉන්ධන සැපයුම සීමා කිරීමට අදාළ සමාගම් පියවර ගෙන ඇති බව වාර්තා වේ.

මෙම සමාගම් අඛණ්ඩව ඩීසල් නිකුත් කිරීම සීමා කළහොත් ඉදිරියේදී රට තුළ දැඩි ඉන්ධන හිඟයක් මතුවිය හැකි බවට ද අනතුරු ඇඟවේ.

මේ අතර, පැනනැගී ඇති තොග සීමා කිරීමට විරෝධය පළ කරමින් ඛනිජ තෙල් බෙදාහරින්නන්ගේ සංගමය අදාළ සමාගම් වෙත දැනුම් දී ඇත්තේ පිරවුම්හල් අඛණ්ඩව පවත්වාගෙන යා හැකි සාධාරණ වැඩපිළිවෙළක් වහා සකස් කරන ලෙසයි.

විශේෂයෙන්ම සැප්තැම්බර් 03 වැනිදා සිට ක්‍රියාත්මක වන පරිදි ඔටෝ ඩීසල් සැපයුම සීමා කිරීමට ගත් තීරණය හේතුවෙන් ප්‍රවාහන, කාර්මික, නාගරික ඉදිකිරීම් ඇතුළු ආර්ථික ක්ෂේත්‍ර රැසක පාරිභෝගික අවශ්‍යතා සපුරාලීමට නොහැකිව බෙදුම්කරුවන් අසීරුතාවකට පත්ව සිටින බව ලංකා IOC කළමනාකාරීත්වය වෙත ලිපියක් යොමු කරමින් එම සමාගමේ බෙදුම්කරුවන්ගේ සංගමය පෙන්වා දී තිබේ.

 පාරිභෝගිකයන් වෙනත් සැපයුම්කරුවන් වෙත යොමු වීමෙන් සමාගමේ අලෙවි ජාලයට දිගුකාලීනව අහිතකර ප්‍රතිවිපාක උද්ගත විය හැකි බැවින් මේ පිළිබඳව කඩිනම් අවධානය යොමු කරන ලෙස ඔවුහු ඉල්ලා සිටිති.

Concerns Rise Over Diesel Supply Crisis Amid Company Restrictions in Sri Lanka

The Association of Petroleum Distributors has warned of a nationwide diesel supply crisis, attributing the situation to restrictions imposed by Lanka IOC (LIOC), Sinopec, and RM Parks on diesel releases.

Currently, diesel distribution has been limited to filling stations licensed under the Lanka Petroleum Corporation, highlighting a significant reduction in supply. According to the association, this has effectively confined diesel availability to approximately 500 filling stations, including 250 operated by Lanka IOC, 150 by Sinopec, and 100 by RM Parks.

During a recent government initiative to reduce fuel prices, these companies were also expected to lower their prices correspondingly. Reports indicate that the government had agreed to provide financial support to offset losses incurred by these companies, yet has failed to take action to release the promised funds.

The absence of this financial support has led the companies to take drastic measures, limiting diesel supply. If these restrictions continue, there is a looming threat of a severe fuel shortage in the country, with potential long-lasting impacts on various sectors.

In response to the imposed limits, the petroleum distributors have expressed their concerns, urging these companies to devise a fair plan to maintain filling station operations continuously.

Notably, the decision to restrict auto diesel supplies, particularly effective from September 3, has placed significant challenges on transportation, industrial activities, and urban construction, with distributors finding it increasingly difficult to meet consumer demands.

There are also warnings that if customers turn to alternative suppliers due to the diesel restrictions, it could lead to detrimental long-term impacts on the company's sales network. Distributors have called for urgent attention to be directed towards resolving this issue.
