 පසුගිය පාලන සමයන්හිදී බංකොලොත් වූ මෙරට ආර්ථිකය වත්මන් රජය විසින් යළි ගොඩනගා ඇති බවත්, මේ වන විට ශ්‍රී ලංකාව ලෝකයේ වේගයෙන්ම දියුණු වන රටවල් අතර සිව්වැනි ස්ථානයට පත්ව ඇති බවත් නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය නාමල් කරුණාරත්න මහතා පවසයි.

මාධ්‍ය හමුවක් අමතමින් අමාත්‍යවරයා සඳහන් කළේ, ජාත්‍යන්තර දර්ශකයන්ට අනුව ශ්‍රී ලංකාව ආසියාවේ වේගයෙන්ම දියුණු වන රටවල් අතර ප්‍රථම ස්ථානයට පත්ව ඇති බවයි.

ආර්ථික වර්ධනයට අමතරව, ලෝකයේ සතුටින්ම සිටින රටවල් දර්ශකයේ රටවල් 14ක් සහ සාමකාමී රටවල් දර්ශකයේ රටවල් 20ක් පසුකරමින් ශ්‍රී ලංකාව සැලකිය යුතු ප්‍රගතියක් අත්කරගෙන ඇති බව ද ඔහු පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

ජාත්‍යන්තර මූල්‍ය අරමුදල සහ ලෝක බැංකුව වැනි ජාත්‍යන්තර මූල්‍ය ආයතන පවා ශ්‍රී ලංකාව මේ වන විට මධ්‍යම ආදායම් ලබන රටක් බවට පරිවර්තනය වෙමින් පවතින බව පිළිගෙන ඇති බව අමාත්‍යවරයා මෙහිදී අවධාරණය කළේය.

විපක්ෂයේ විවේචන සම්බන්ධයෙන් අදහස් දැක්වූ නාමල් කරුණාරත්න මහතා, විපක්ෂයේ ආර්ථික විශේෂඥයෙකු වන ආචාර්ය හර්ෂ ද සිල්වා මහතා පවා පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේදී රජයේ ආර්ථික ස්ථාවරත්වය පිළිගෙන ඇති බව සිහිපත් කළේය.

"ඉතිහාසයේ පළමු වතාවට රජයේ භාණ්ඩාගාරය පිරී ඉතිරී ගොස් ඇති බවත්, සාර්ව ආර්ථිකය ස්ථාවර වී ඇති බවත් හර්ෂ ද සිල්වා මන්ත්‍රීවරයාම ප්‍රකාශ කර තිබෙනවා. වාහන ආනයනය කිරීමට පවා හැකි මට්ටමට ආර්ථිකය ශක්තිමත් වී ඇති බව ඔහු පිළිගන්නවා," යැයි අමාත්‍යවරයා පැවසීය.

ජාත්‍යන්තරය විසින් ලබා දෙන මෙම දත්ත සහ වාර්තා අසත්‍ය දැයි තමා විපක්ෂ නායකවරයාගෙන් ප්‍රශ්න කරන බවත්, රටේ පවතින සැබෑ ආර්ථික දියුණුව පිළිගැනීමට විපක්ෂය මැලි නොවිය යුතු බවත් නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යවරයා වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේය.

Sri Lanka Ranked Fourth Among Fastest Growing Economies, Claims Deputy Minister

The Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Namal Karunaratne, has asserted that the current government has successfully rebuilt the economy that faced collapse during previous administrations. He proudly announced that Sri Lanka now ranks as the fourth fastest growing economy in the world.

During a media briefing, Karunaratne highlighted that international indicators place Sri Lanka at the top of the list among rapidly developing countries in Asia. He emphasized the nation’s significant strides in economic growth, surpassing 14 nations in the global happiness index and 20 in the peaceful countries index.

He noted that international financial institutions such as the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank recognize Sri Lanka's transformation into a middle-income country. This acknowledgement, according to the Deputy Minister, marks a pivotal moment in the nation’s financial landscape.

In response to opposition criticisms, he reminded attendees that even the opposition's economic expert, Dr. Harsha de Silva, has acknowledged the government's economic stability within parliament. “For the first time in history, the government’s treasury is full and thriving. The economy has stabilized, allowing for vehicle imports, as stated by MP Harsha de Silva,” Karunaratne remarked.

The deputy minister further challenged the opposition leader on the authenticity of reports and data provided by international bodies, insisting that the opposition should not shy away from recognizing the real economic progress of the country.
