 කිලිනොච්චිය, ජයපුරම් කිරාන්චි පොදු ක්‍රීඩාංගණයේ පැවති පාපන්දු තරගයක් අතරතුර දෙපිරිසක් අතර ඇති වූ ප්‍රචණ්ඩ ගැටුමක් මැඩපැවැත්වීම සඳහා පොලිසිය අහසට වෙඩි තබා ඇත.

කණ්ඩායම් දෙකක් අතර පැවති තරගාවලියක් අතරතුර තරගයේ විනිසුරුවරයා ලබාදුන් තීරණයකට එරෙහිව කණ්ඩායම් දෙකේ ක්‍රීඩකයන් දෙදෙනෙකු අතර මුලින්ම බහින්බස්වීමක් හටගෙන ඇති අතර, පසුව එය පහරදීමක් දක්වා දුරදිග ගොස් ඇත.

තරගාවලියේ ආරක්ෂාවට යොදවා සිටි පොලිස් නිලධාරීන් ගැටුම ආරම්භ වූ අවස්ථාවේදීම එය පාලනය කිරීමට උත්සාහ කළ ද තත්ත්වය පාලනයෙන් තොරව ප්‍රචණ්ඩකාරී වී තිබේ.

ඒ හේතුවෙන් උප පොලිස් පරීක්ෂකවරයකු විසින් පොලිස් කොස්තාපල්වරයෙකු සතුව තිබූ ටී-56 වර්ගයේ රාජකාරි ගිනිඅවිය ලබාගෙන අහසට වෙඩි උණ්ඩ 10ක් පමණ මුදාහරිමින් කලහකාරී තත්ත්වය සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම මැඩපවත්වා ඇත.

මෙම ගැටුමෙන් තුවාල ලැබූ පුද්ගලයන් පස්දෙනෙකු කිලිනොච්චිය රෝහලට ඇතුළත් කර ඇති අතර, පොලිසිය තැබූ වෙඩි ප්‍රහාරවලින් කිසිදු පුද්ගලයෙකුට තුවාල සිදුව නොමැති බව ද තහවුරු කර තිබේ.

Police Fire into Air to Control Violent Brawl at Kiliwanchchi Football Match

A chaotic scene unfolded at the Jayapuram Kiranji Public Sports Ground in Kiliwanchchi during a football match, prompting police to fire shots into the air to disperse a violent clash between two teams. The disturbance stemmed from a disagreement over a referee's decision, escalating rapidly from heated exchanges to physical confrontations.

As players from both sides squared off, approximately 400 spectators, who had come to watch the match, rushed onto the field. The atmosphere turned tumultuous as individuals armed with poles and motorcycle helmets joined in the fracas, exacerbating the chaos. The situation spiraled out of control despite efforts from police officers assigned to maintain order at the event.

In a swift response to the escalating violence, a deputy police inspector seized a T-56 assault rifle from a constable and discharged around ten rounds into the air, effectively restoring some semblance of order amidst the pandemonium.

Five individuals injured in the altercation have been admitted to the Kiliwanchchi Hospital, while police confirmed that none of the injuries resulted from their firing. Authorities from the Jayapuram Police station have launched further investigations into the incident.
