උඩරට දුම්රිය අද සිට කඩුගන්නා යලි යයි..

 

'දිට්වා' සුළි කුණාටුවෙන් සිදුවූ දැඩි හානි හේතුවෙන් මාස 10කට ආසන්න කාලයක් අත්හිටුවා තිබූ උඩරට මාර්ගයේ දුම්රිය ධාවන කටයුතු අද (02) සිට යළි ආරම්භ කරන බව දුම්රිය දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව පවසයි.

ඒ අනුව, කොළඹ සිට පේරාදෙණිය සහ ගම්පොළ දක්වා දුම්රිය ධාවනය අද දිනයේ සිට යළි ක්‍රියාත්මක වන බව දුම්රිය ගමනාගමන අධිකාරී අසංක සමරසිංහ මහතා සඳහන් කළේය.

පසුගියදා බලපෑ ‘දිට්වා’ සුළි කුණාටුව හේතුවෙන් දුම්රිය මාර්ගයට සිදු වූ බරපතළ හානි නිසාවෙන් මෙලෙස මාස 10ක පමණ කාලයක් උඩරට මාර්ගයේ දුම්රිය ධාවනය නතර කර තැබීමට සිදු විය.

මෙම දුම්රිය සේවාවන් යළි සක්‍රීය වීමත් සමඟ, කොළඹ සහ උඩරට ප්‍රධාන දුම්රිය ස්ථාන රැසක් අතර ගමනාගමන සබඳතා යළි යථා තත්ත්වයට පත්වනු ඇතැයි දුම්රිය දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව වැඩිදුරටත් අපේක්ෂා කරයි.

Resumption of Train Services on Hill Country Routes Following Cyclone Damage

After a nearly ten-month suspension due to severe damage caused by the Ditwa cyclone, train services on the hill country routes have been reinstated as of today, December 2, according to the Department of Railways.

The operations between Colombo and Peradeniya, as well as Gampola, are officially back on track, announced Ashanka Samarasinghe, the railway operations director.

The rail service had been halted for approximately ten months following significant disruptions to the railway infrastructure caused by the cyclonic weather conditions experienced recently.

With the recommencement of these train services, the Department of Railways anticipates a restoration of connectivity among several key railway stations between Colombo and the hill country, bringing normalcy back to the transport network.
