Former Central Bank Governor Seeks to Withdraw Appeal in High-Profile Case

In a significant development regarding the controversial Greek bond investment case, former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal has initiated steps to withdraw an appeal filed against him in the Colombo Permanent High Court. This appeal was lodged as part of a legal challenge related to the ongoing proceedings connected to the contentious investment.

Legal representatives for Cabraal disclosed that the Colombo Permanent High Court is expected to issue a directive concerning the case in the near future. They further indicated that, in light of this anticipated ruling, Cabraal has opted not to pursue the matter further and is thus formally requesting the High Court to dismiss the appeal.
