 බන්ධනාගාරගතව සිටින පූජ්‍ය ගලගොඩඅත්තේ ඥානසාර හිමියන්ගේ සිවුර ඉවත් කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් හිටපු පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී උදය ගම්මන්පිල මහතා විසින් මතු කරන ලද ආන්දෝලනාත්මක කරුණු පිළිබඳව විධිමත් පොලිස් පරීක්ෂණයක් පැවැත්වීමට පියවර ගන්නා බව රජය පවසයි.

රජයේ ප්‍රවෘත්ති දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ අද (13) පැවති කැබිනට් තීරණ දැනුම්දීමේ මාධ්‍ය හමුවේදී අදහස් දක්වමින් කැබිනට් මාධ්‍ය ප්‍රකාශක, අමාත්‍ය වෛද්‍ය නලින්ද ජයතිස්ස මහතා සඳහන් කළේ, බන්ධනාගාර දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විසින් මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් පොලිසිය වෙත පැමිණිල්ලක් ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට නියමිත අතර, ඉන් අනතුරුව අදාළ විමර්ශන කටයුතු ආරම්භ කෙරෙන බවයි.

මෙම චෝදනාව කිසිසේත්ම සුළුකොට තැකිය නොහැකි බරපතළ කාරණයක් බව පෙන්වා දුන් අමාත්‍යවරයා, ඒ සම්බන්ධයෙන් වන සත්‍යාසත්‍යතාව හෙළිදරව් කරගත යුතු බව අවධාරණය කළේය.

ඥානසාර හිමියන්ගේ සිවුර බලහත්කාරයෙන් ගලවා දැමූ අවස්ථාවේදී, බන්ධනාගාර නිලධාරියෙකු සිය ජංගම දුරකථනය උපයෝගී කරගනිමින් රජයේ ඉහළ පෙළේ ප්‍රධානියෙකුට එය නැරඹීමට සැලැස්වූ බවට හිටපු අමාත්‍ය උදය ගම්මන්පිල මහතා පැවති ප්‍රවෘත්ති සාකච්ඡාවකදී චෝදනා කර තිබිණි.

ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමට නියමිත මෙම පරීක්ෂණයේදී අදාළ සිදුවීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් තමන් දුටු, ඇසූ හෝ ප්‍රකාශ කළ සියලු සාක්ෂි සහ තොරතුරු නීතිය හමුවේ අනාවරණය කිරීමට ගම්මන්පිල මහතාට පූර්ණ අවස්ථාව හිමිවනු ඇති බවද අමාත්‍ය නලින්ද ජයතිස්ස මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් කියා සිටියේය.

Government Announces Investigation into Allegations Surrounding Ven. Gnanasara Thera's Release

The government has pledged to initiate a thorough police investigation concerning the controversial removal of the detention of Ven. Gnanasara Thera, a prominent Buddhist monk currently imprisoned. This commitment follows pressing allegations made by former Member of Parliament Udaya Gammanpila.

During a media briefing held today (13) to announce cabinet decisions, Minister of Media and Cabinet Spokesperson Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa asserted that the Department of Prisons is set to submit a formal complaint to the police regarding the matter, paving the way for an inquiry to commence shortly thereafter.

Emphasizing the gravity of the situation, the minister noted that the allegations should not be dismissed lightly, highlighting the urgent need to clarify the facts surrounding the issue. He reiterated the importance of bringing the truth to light amidst these serious claims.

Udaya Gammanpila previously accused a prison officer of improperly facilitating the viewing of the monk's release by a high-ranking government official through the use of a mobile phone, an assertion made during a press discussion.

As part of the forthcoming investigation, Dr. Jayatissa stated that Gammanpila would be afforded a full opportunity to disclose any evidence and information he may possess regarding the incident, ensuring that all relevant testimonies are presented within the ambit of the law.
