Former Minister Ashok Abeysinghe Resigns from All Positions in Samagi Jana Balawegaya
In a significant political shift, former State Minister and Parliament Member Ashok Abeysinghe has announced his immediate resignation from all posts within the Samagi Jana Balawegaya party. This decision marks a notable moment in the party's structure.
Abeysinghe formally communicated his resignation in a letter addressed to Opposition Leader and party leader Sajith Premadasa. He is stepping down from various leadership roles, including the main organizer for the Kurunegala electoral district, the position of Deputy Secretary, the chairmanship of the Samagi Workers' Union, and his role as Secretary of the Professional Association for the opposition leader.
Expressing his gratitude, Abeysinghe noted his appreciation for the opportunity to work closely with Sajith Premadasa during his tenure with the United National Party and at the inception of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya. He stated how much he values the support and opportunities provided to him throughout his political career.
With a hopeful outlook for the future, Abeysinghe wished for the success of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya’s political journey. He also extended his prayers for Premadasa to gain strength and courage as he aspires to become the first citizen of the motherland.
