 වත්මන් රජය කිසිසේත්ම ජනතාව මත අනවශ්‍ය ලෙස අමතර බදු බරක් පටවා නොමැති බවත්, මෙතෙක් පැවති බදු ව්‍යුහයේ පැවති අඩුපාඩු හා විෂමතා නිවැරදි කරමින් එය වඩාත් සාධාරණ හා විධිමත් පද්ධතියක් බවට පත් කිරීමට පියවර ගෙන ඇති බවත් කම්කරු අමාත්‍ය සහ මුදල් හා ක්‍රමසම්පාදන නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය ආචාර්ය අනිල් ජයන්ත මහතා අවධාරණය කරයි.

මාධ්‍ය වෙත විශේෂ ප්‍රකාශයක් සිදුකරමින් නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යවරයා පෙන්වා දුන්නේ, නිදහස් අධ්‍යාපනය, සෞඛ්‍ය සේවාව, අත්‍යවශ්‍ය මහජන සේවාවන් පවත්වාගෙන යාම මෙන්ම රටේ යටිතල පහසුකම් සංවර්ධනය සඳහා අවශ්‍ය මූල්‍ය ප්‍රතිපාදන සපයා ගැනීමේ ප්‍රධානතම මූලාශ්‍රය බදු ආදායම බවයි. 

එබැවින් බදු ක්‍රමයේ කාර්යක්ෂමතාව ඉහළ නංවමින් යුක්ති සහගත බදු ප්‍රතිපත්තියක් ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීම රජයේ මූලික අරමුණ බව ඔහු සඳහන් කළේය.

පසුගිය දෙවසරක කාලය තුළ බදු පරිපාලනය විධිමත් කිරීම, කාර්යක්ෂමව බදු අයකර ගැනීම සහ බදු ගෙවීම සඳහා ජනතාව උනන්දු කරවීම වෙනුවෙන් රජය සාධනීය පියවර රැසක් ගත් බව පෙන්වා දුන් ඒ මහතා, එහි සුවිශේෂී ප්‍රතිඵලයක් ලෙස මෙරට බදු පදනම පුළුල් වී 2025 වසර සඳහා අපේක්ෂා කළ ඉලක්කගත ප්‍රමාණයටත් වඩා වැඩි බදු ආදායමක් උපයා ගැනීමට මහා භාණ්ඩාගාරයට හැකි වූ බවද අනාවරණය කළේය.

රජය විසින් විවිධ බදු අත්තනෝමතික අන්දමින් ඉහළ නංවා ඇති බවට සමාජ මාධ්‍ය ජාලා ඔස්සේ ඇතැම් පාර්ශ්වයන් ගෙන යන ප්‍රචාර සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම සාවද්‍ය බව පැහැදිලි කළ නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යවරයා, ක්‍රියාත්මක කර ඇති නව බදු සංශෝධන පිළිබඳව ජනතාව නොමඟ නොයන ලෙස කරුණු පැහැදිලි කරමින් ඉල්ලා සිටියේය.

Government Aims for Fair Tax System Amidst Public Misunderstandings

The current government firmly asserts that it is not imposing any unnecessary additional tax burdens on the populace. Minister of Labour and State Minister of Finance and Revenue, Dr. Anil Jayathilaka, emphasized that they are actively working to rectify the deficiencies and disparities within the existing tax framework, aiming to develop a more equitable and systematic tax structure.

In a recent statement to the media, the State Minister highlighted that tax revenue is a crucial source of financial resources needed for maintaining free education, healthcare services, essential public services, and developing the country's infrastructure.

He noted that enhancing the efficiency of the tax system and implementing a rational tax policy is a primary goal of the government.

Over the past two years, the government has taken significant measures to streamline tax administration, effectively collect taxes, and encourage public participation in tax payments. As a result, he revealed that the tax base in the country has expanded, enabling the government to generate tax revenue exceeding the targeted figures for 2025.

Addressing claims circulating on social media about the government’s alleged harsh tax measures, the State Minister clarified that these assertions are entirely inaccurate. He urged the public to stay informed about the newly implemented tax amendments, ensuring that misunderstandings do not lead them astray.
