"Yes, we are distributing iodine tablets to our people. We can no longer trust Donald Trump; he has left the door open for significant aggression," the official stated. The iodine tablets aim to prevent the absorption of radioactive iodine by the thyroid in the event of a nuclear incident.
Reports suggest that U.S. defense sectors are on high alert as they prepare for possible strikes on the 'Pikaks Mountain' nuclear site in Iran, following a notable spike in military readiness levels. An Iranian political analyst disclosed to Al Jazeera that there is significant American interest in this area.
With military tensions nearing a critical threshold, the Iranian government has declared 'Code 100', the highest military alert system, indicating a readiness to respond to any potential assault.
Simultaneously, President Trump has convened a special meeting with his National Security Council at the White House to assess the situation and determine whether to restart military operations against Iran. Notably, November 9 falls on a new moon, a night considered particularly advantageous for clandestine military operations.
While addressing the media in the Oval Office, Trump emphasized that a timely decision would be made regarding potential military intervention. He made clear the U.S.'s unwavering intention to completely neutralize Iran's nuclear ambitions, ensuring they would pose no future threat.
"If possible, I would prefer not to entirely destroy other regions within Iran. However, I may have to do so. You’ll know the decision soon enough," Trump warned. Although preparations for a large-scale operation against Iran have been set in motion, no official orders have yet been issued from the White House.
In the midst of these rising tensions, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi reiterated his strong stance during a phone conversation with Trump, explicitly stating that Iraq will not permit its territory to be used as a base for operations against neighboring countries. His office highlighted the importance of respecting the sovereignty of all nations in the region.
