හිටපු අමාත්ය එස්.බී. දිසානායක මහතාගේ සහෝදරයෙකු වන හිටපු පළාත් සභා මන්ත්රී ජයලත් බණ්ඩාර දිසානායක මහතා මූල්ය වංචා චෝදනාවක් සම්බන්ධයෙන් පොලිසිය විසින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන තිබේ.
මත්පැන් බලපත්රයක් ලබා දෙන බව පවසා වීරකැටිය ප්රදේශයේ පදිංචිකරුවෙකුගෙන් රුපියල් මිලියන 27.5ක මුදලක් ලබා ගත් බවට මධ්යම අපරාධ විමර්ශන කාර්යාංශය වෙත ලැබුණු පැමිණිල්ලකට අනුව මෙම අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීම සිදු කර ඇත.
මධ්යම අපරාධ විමර්ශන කාර්යාංශයේ මූල්ය හා වාණිජ අපරාධ විමර්ශන අංශය මගින් සිදු කළ විමර්ශනයකින් අනතුරුව සැකකරු හඟුරන්කෙත ප්රදේශයේදී අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් බව පොලිසිය පවසයි.
අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් 58 හැවිරිදි සැකකරු නුගේගොඩ මහේස්ත්රාත් අධිකරණය වෙත ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට නියමිතව තිබුණි.
Former Provincial Councillor Arrested in Financial Fraud Case
In a significant development, police have arrested Jayalath Bandara Disanayaka, the brother of former Minister S.B. Disanayaka, in connection with financial fraud allegations.
The arrest follows a complaint received by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) indicating that the 58-year-old had allegedly collected Rs. 27.5 million from a resident of the Weeraketiya area under the pretext of issuing a liquor license.
According to police reports, the suspect was apprehended in the Hanggurneketha area after a detailed investigation by the Financial and Commercial Crime Division of the CID.
He is set to be presented to the Nugegoda Magistrate’s Court shortly.
