කොපර් ලයින් (තඹ කම්බි රැහැන්) සම්බ්නධතාවයෙන් දුරකථන පහසුකම් ලබා ගෙන ඇති සියලුම ටෙලිකොම් පාරිභෝගිකයන්ගේ මෙතෙක් මාසිකව ගෙවූ ස්ථාවර ගාස්තුව මේ ජූලි මස සිට වැඩි කිරිමට ටෙලිකොම් සමාගම පියවර ගෙන ඇත.

පසුගිය මස තෙක් කොපර් ලයින් සම්බන්ධතා ලබා ගෙන ඇති ගෘහස්ථ සහ ව්‍යාපාරික පාරිභෝගිකයන්ගෙන් ස්ථාවර ගාස්තු වශයෙන් රු.525/=ක මුදලක් අය කල අතර, ජූලි මස සිට එම මුදල රු.730/= දක්වා වැඩි කර කොපර් දුරකථන සම්බන්ධතා ලබා ගෙන ඇති පාරිභෝගිකයන්ගෙ දුරකථන බිල් ගෙවීම දින කිහිපයක් ප්‍රමාද වුව හොත් එහම දුරකථන සම්බන්ධතාවය විසන්ධි කිරිමටද ටෙලිකොම් සමාගම පියවර ගෙන ඇත.

ටෙලිකොම් සමාගම විසින් හදුන්වා දී ඇති ෆයිබර් ඔප්ටික්ස් තාක්ෂණය ප්‍රවර්ධනය කර කොපර් ලයින් සම්බන්ධතාවයෙන් දුරකථන සම්බන්ධතාවය ලබා ගෙන ඇති පාරිභෝගිකයන්ට ෆයිබර් ඔප්ටික්ස් තාක්ෂණයෙන් ලබා දී ඇති දුරකථන සම්බන්ධතාවයට මාරු වන ලෙසට ටෙලිකොම් සමාගම පාරිභෝගිකයන්ට දැනුම්දිම සිදු කරනු ලබයි.

කොපර් ලයින් සම්බන්ධතාවයක් ඇති පාරිභෝගිකයන්ට ෆයිබර් ඔප්ටික්ස් සම්බන්ධතාවය ලබා ගැනිම සදහා අමතර රු.5000ක මුදලක් ගෙවීමට සිදු වන අතර, ඇතැම් පාරිභෝගිකයන් කොපර් ලයින් සම්බන්ධතාවය ලබා ගෙන ඇත්තේ ෆයිබර් ඔප්ටික්ස් තාක්ෂණය හදුන්වාදීමට ප්‍රථම වන අතර, කොපර් ලයින් දුරකථන සම්බන්ධතාවයන් ලබා ගෙන ඇති  පාරිභෝගිකයන්ට විදුලි බලය නොමැති අවස්ථාවක වූවද දුරකථනය ක්‍රියා කරන අතර, විදුලි බලය නොමැති අවස්ථාවල ෆයිබර් ඔප්ටික්ස් තාක්ෂණය ඔස්සේ දුකථන සම්බන්ධතා ලබා ගෙන ඇති දුරකථන ක්‍රියා කරන්නේ නැති බවද දුරකථන පාරිභෝගිකයන් කියා සිටියි.

කොපර් සම්බන්ධතාවයෙන් ක්‍රියා කරන දුරකථන විදුලි බලය නොමැති අවස්ථාවක වුවත් දුරකථන ඇමතුම් ලබා ගැනීමට අවශ්‍ය තාක්ෂණ පහසුකම් සහ කොපර් ලයින් සම්බන්ධතාවයෙන් අවස්ථාවල ෆයිබර් ඔප්ටික්ස් තාක්ෂණයට මාරු කිරිමෙදි අය කරන රු.5000ක මුදල අය නොකරන ලෙසටයි දුරකථන පාරිභෝගිකයන් ඉල්ලා සිටින්නේ.

Telecom Company Increases Charges for Copper Line Services, Promoting Fiber Optics Transition

In a significant move affecting all telecom customers with copper line connections, a telecommunications company has announced an increase in the monthly fixed charges starting this July. Until last month, residential and business customers were billed at Rs. 525, but this will rise to Rs. 730 from July onwards.

Customers utilizing these copper telephone services could face disconnection if their bill payments are delayed by a few days, as the company has indicated it will take actions to discontinue service for those in arrears.

Amid this price hike, the telecommunications provider is actively promoting its fiber optics technology, encouraging customers to switch to this advanced service. They are notifying clients currently relying on copper lines that new fiber optic connections are available to enhance their service experience.

For customers wishing to transition from copper lines to fiber optics, an additional charge of Rs. 5,000 will apply. It is worth noting that some customers have only subscribed to copper lines prior to the introduction of fiber optics and have pointed out a key difference: telephone service over copper lines continues to function even without electricity, whereas fiber optics connections do not operate in power outages.

Customers are now voicing their concerns, urging the telecom company to refrain from charging the Rs. 5,000 transition fee, especially given that services over copper are maintained during power outages.
