 වසර ගණනාවක කැපවීමෙන් සහ මහජන ආශිර්වාදයෙන් ලබාගත් රාජ්‍ය බලය, කිසිදු පෞද්ගලික අරමුණකින් තොරව රට ගොඩනැගීම සඳහා උපරිමයෙන් කැප කරන බව ධීවර නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය රත්න ගමගේ මහතා ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

උත්සව සභාවක් අමතමින් අමාත්‍යවරයා පෙන්වා දුන්නේ මීට වසර හතරකට පෙර, එනම් 2021 වසරේදී සිය දේශපාලන ව්‍යාපාරය 3%ක මට්ටමක පවතින විට බොහෝ පිරිස් තමන්ට සමච්චල් කළ බවයි.

එහෙත් එම බාධක හමුවේ නොසැලී, දිවා රෑ නොබලා, පෝස්ටර් ඇලවීමේ සිට සංවිධාන කටයුතු දක්වා ස්වේච්ඡාවෙන් කැප වූ පිරිස් නිසා අද ආණ්ඩු බලය ලබා ගැනීමට හැකි වී ඇති බව ඔහු සිහිපත් කළේය.

පැරණි දේශපාලන සංස්කෘතිය සහ වර්තමාන ක්‍රියාකලාපය අතර පවතින වෙනස පෙන්වා දෙමින් ඔහු කියා සිටියේ, අතීතයේ මන්ත්‍රීවරුන් පාරක් හැදීමේදී පවා තමන්ට ලැබෙන කොමිස් මුදල පිළිබඳව සිතූ බවයි. එහෙත් වර්තමානයේ සිය ප්‍රාදේශීය සභා මන්ත්‍රීවරුන් සහ නියෝජිතයන් ජනතාව වෙනුවෙන් පාරවල්, ක්‍රීඩාංගණ, රැකියා අවස්ථා සහ කර්මාන්තශාලා ඉල්ලා බලධාරීන් සමඟ තර්ක කරන්නේ කිසිදු පෞද්ගලික ලාභයක් අපේක්ෂාවෙන් නොවන බව ද ඔහු පැවසීය.

රට ගොඩනැගීමෙන් ලැබෙන ප්‍රතිලාභය තමන්ට මෙන්ම තම පවුලට සහ සමස්ත ජාතියටම හිමිවන බවත්, එම යහපත් චේතනාවෙන් යුතුව ඉදිරි වසර පහ තුළ රට නව මාවතකට යොමු කරන බවත් රත්න ගමගේ මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේය.

Deputy Minister Stresses Commitment to Nation Building Without Personal Gain

The Deputy Minister of Fisheries, Ratna Gamage, has emphasized that the authority granted by the government, earned through years of dedication and public support, will be utilized exclusively for the betterment of the country, devoid of any personal motives.

Addressing a celebratory gathering, Gamage recalled that four years ago, in 2021, his political endeavors faced significant challenges, with his party's approval rating languishing at just 3%. During that time, many had voiced their doubts about the party's prospects.

However, he highlighted that despite those hurdles, the unwavering commitment of volunteers—from campaigning on the ground day and night to putting up posters—was instrumental in securing governmental power today.

"Acquiring government power is just the beginning; our true challenge now lies in nation-building. This is our responsibility. Just as we labored to achieve power, we must all work hard to construct this country," he asserted, emphasizing the importance of collective effort.

Pointing to the evolving political landscape, he contrasted past political practices with contemporary approaches, explaining that former lawmakers often prioritized personal commissions even when constructing roads. In contrast, current local council members and representatives are now advocating for roads, sports facilities, job opportunities, and factories without any expectation of personal profit.

Gamage further noted that the benefits of nation-building would not only extend to him and his family but would also encompass the entire nation. He expressed optimism that, driven by this spirit of public service, the country would embark on a new path in the upcoming five years.
