 ලිදුල ඕල්ට්‍රීම් වතුයායේ වැඩ කරමින් සිටි වතු කම්කරුවන් 8 දෙනෙකුට බඹර ප්‍රහාරයක් (21) දින එල්ල වී ඇති බවත්, ඉන් තුවාල ලැබු එක් වතුකම්කරුවෙක් ලිදුල ප්‍රා දේශීය රෝහල වෙත ඇතුලත් කිරිමේදි මිය ගොස් සිටි බව ලිදුල පොලිසිය පැවසීය.

පවතින අයහපත් කාලගුණයත් සමග තේ වත්තේ ගසක බැද තිබූ බඹර කූඩුවක් එක්වරම ඇවිස්සී තේ වත්තේ වැඩ කරමින් සිටි වතුකම්කරුවන්ට ප්‍රහාරයක් එල්ල කර ඇති බවයි පොලිසිය කියා සිටියේ.

මෙසේ බඹර ප්‍රහාරයකින් මිය ගොස් ඇත්තේ ලිදුල ඕල්ට්‍රීම් වතුයායේ ලෙන් තෝමස් කොටසේ පදිංචි එස්.සුභ්‍රණියම් නැමත් 77 හැවිරිදි තිදරු පියෙකි.

තුවාල ලැබූ සෙසු වතුකම්කරුවන් 7 දෙනා ලිදුල ප්‍රා දේශීය රෝහලේ භාහිර අංශයෙන් ප්‍රතිකාර ලබා පිටව ගොස් ඇති බවත්, මිය ගිය පුද්ගලයාගේ සිරුර පෂ්චාත් මරණ පරික්ෂනය සදහා නුවරඑළිය දිස්ත්‍රික් මහ රෝහලට මාරු කර යැවූ බව ලිදුල රෝහලේ වෛද්‍යවරයෙකු පැවසීය.

Fatal Bumblebee Attack Claims Life of Tea Plantation Worker in Lidul

A tragic incident unfolded on the 21st of this month at the Lidul Oltreem tea estate, where a swarm of bumblebees launched an attack on workers. One injured tea picker succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at the local hospital, as confirmed by Lidul police.

The attack coincided with adverse weather conditions, which may have contributed to the sudden emergence of a bumblebee nest in a tea tree. This unexpected encounter disrupted the workday of the tea plantation employees, resulting in chaos.

The victim, identified as S. Subhraniyam, a 77-year-old resident of the Len Thomas section of the Lidul Oltreem estate, was fatally injured during the swarm attack.

Seven other tea workers who sustained injuries received treatment at the Lidul local hospital's outpatient department and have since been discharged. Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased have been transferred to the Nuwareliya District General Hospital for post-mortem examination, according to a medical professional at the Lidul hospital.
