දේවානිට උසස්විමක්.. පළාත් දෙකක දෙවැනියා ලෙස පත් කරයි..

 ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ පරිසර හා වන සම්පත් සංරක්ෂණ ක්ෂේත්‍රය තුළ කථාබහකට සහ අවධානයට ලක්වූ නිලධාරිනියක වන දේවානී ජයතිලක මහත්මිය උසස්වීම් ලබා, උතුරු මැද සහ නැගෙනහිර පළාත් ආවරණය වන පරිදි නව නියෝජ්‍ය වන සංරක්ෂකවරිය ලෙස පත් කර තිබේ.

ඒ අනුව, ඇය 26 වැනි සඳුදා දින සිට එම නව ධුරයේ නිල වශයෙන් රාජකාරි ආරම්භ කිරීමට නියමිතය.

ගම්පහ දිසා වන නිලධාරිනිය ලෙස කටයුතු කළ සමයේදී, නීතිවිරෝධී ඉදිකිරීම් සහ පරිසර හානි වැළැක්වීම සඳහා දේශපාලන අධිකාරිය හමුවේ නීතිය ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමට පියවර ගැනීම හේතුවෙන් ඇය මෙරට මහජනතාව අතර ප්‍රසිද්දියට පත්විය. 

විශේෂයෙන්ම කඩොලාන පරිසර පද්ධති ආරක්ෂා කර ගැනීම සහ අතිශය දුර්ලභ ‘කෲඩියා සෙලනිකා’  ශාකය රැකගැනීම වෙනුවෙන් ඇය ගෙනගිය සටන දැඩි කතාබහට ලක්විණි.

මීට පෙර වන සංරක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ සේවා උසස්වීම් සහ ස්ථාන මාරුවීම්වලදී ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨත්වය නොසලකා හරිමින් තමන්ට අසාධාරණයක් සිදුව ඇති බවට දේවානී ජයතිලක මහත්මිය ප්‍රසිද්ධියේ කරුණු පෙන්වා දී තිබූ පසුබිමක, මෙම නව උසස්වීම ලැබීම විශේෂත්වයකි.

Devanthi Jayatilaka Appointed as New Regional Conservator of Forests in Sri Lanka

In a significant move for environmental conservation in Sri Lanka, Devanthi Jayatilaka has been elevated to the position of Regional Conservator of Forests, covering the Northern, Central, and Eastern provinces. This appointment places her at the forefront of key discussions about forest management and resource preservation.

From Monday, the 26th, Jayatilaka is set to officially assume her new role and responsibilities.

Her recognition stems largely from her tenure as the Divisional Forest Officer in Gampaha, where she took decisive steps to enforce the law against illegal constructions and curb environmental degradation. Her proactive approach earned her respect and popularity among the public.

Notably, her efforts to protect the Kadolalana ecosystem and preserve the critically endangered 'Crudia zeylanica' species have sparked considerable debate within environmental circles.

Jayatilaka has previously voiced concerns about injustices she faced regarding promotions and transfers within the Department of Forest Conservation, where she felt her seniority was overlooked. This new appointment marks a notable achievement in her career, particularly against that backdrop.
